I’m back at the little Lemon river this grey mizzly Sunday afternoon.
While the wagtails, Pied and Grey, were wagging
A Scottish bagpiper from the town centre was wheezily bagging.
The grey mizzle of the afternoon forgotten about, made invisible.

Pied and grey wagtails dashing about on the banks of the little river Lemon.
The grey wagtails had a lemony yellow buff to their tails, that contrasted vividly with the slate grey feathers above.
The males eagerly flashed their flirty lemon yellow tails across the river; the females stood on the banks in waity mating wagging mode.
The sunny Sunday afternoon was lit up lively with the constant chit chit chippy calls from all concerned.
A great way to spend half an hour.

Dreary Newton Abbot has a quay.
And a limpid little Lemon river.
And a lovely Little Egret.
Looked like the Little Egret was stabbing out flat fish.
Could have been lemon sole (buh bum)
A nicer way to spend Easter Sunday afternoon could not have been envisaged.
